Defogger filament — voltage probe check
- 1Attach probe circuit tester (in volt range) to middle portion of each filament. A normal filament reads approximately 6 V at the centre.
- 2If a filament is burned out, circuit tester registers 0 or 12 volts (12 V if break is on the +-side of probe; 0 V if break is on the −-side).
- 3To locate burned out point, move probe to left and right along filament to determine point where tester needle swings abruptly.
