IDLE SPEED/IGNITION TIMING/IDLE MIXTURE RATIO INSPECTION
EF & EC-26flowchartProcedure is for catalyzer model. Idle speed spec applies to both M/T (850±50 rpm) and A/T (850±50 rpm in N position). Ignition timing: 15°±2° B.T.D.C. A.A.C. valve must be disconnected when adjusting idle speed to 800 rpm via idle speed adjusting screw.

INSPECTION START

Visually check the following:
• Air cleaner clogging
• Hoses and ducts for leaks
• Electrical connectors
• Gaskets
• Throttle valve and throttle valve switch operation

Start engine and warm it up until water temperature indicator points to the middle of gauge.

Open engine hood and run engine at about 2,000 rpm for about 2 minutes under no-load.

Perform E.C.C.S. self-diagnosis. (Select mode III)

E.C.C.S. self-diagnosis result O.K. or N.G.?

Check, correct or replace malfunctioning parts.

Check and clean injectors, and replace injectors if necessary.

Race engine two or three times under no-load, then run engine at idle speed.

Adjust ignition timing by turning crank angle sensor after loosing bolts which secure it.
