- 1Check tightening torque of wheel bearing lock nut. [T]: 235 - 314 N·m (24 - 32 kg·m, 174 - 231 ft-lb)

- 3Check axial end play. Axial end play: 0.05 mm (0.0020 in) or less

If axial end play is not within specification or wheel bearing does not turn smoothly, replace wheel bearing assembly. Refer to REAR AXLE — Wheel Hub and Axle Housing.

Rear Wheel Alignment
Before checking rear wheel alignment, be sure to make a preliminary inspection.

Make following checks. Adjust, repair or replace if necessary.

- 1Check tires for wear and for improper inflation.
- 2Check rear wheel bearings for looseness.
- 3Check wheel runout. Refer to S.D.S.
SFA575B - 4Check that rear shock absorber works properly.
- 5Check rear axle and rear suspension parts for looseness.
- 6Check vehicle posture (Unladen). "Unladen": Fuel tank, radiator and engine oil full. Spare tire, jack, hand tools and mats in designated positions.
CAMBER
- 1Measure camber of both right and left wheels with a suitable alignment gauge and adjust in accordance with the following procedures.
