- 1Check tightening torque of wheel bearing lock nut.
SFA543A - 2Check that wheel bearings operate smoothly.
- 3Check axial end play. Axial end play: 0.03 mm (0.0012 in) or less
- 4If axial end play is not within specification or wheel bearing does not turn smoothly, replace wheel bearing assembly. Refer to FRONT AXLE — Wheel Hub and Knuckle.

Front Wheel Alignment
Before checking front wheel alignment, be sure to make a preliminary inspection.
PRELIMINARY INSPECTION
Make following checks. Adjust, repair or replace if necessary.
Preliminary Inspection
- 1Check tires for wear and improper inflation.
- 2Check front wheel bearings for looseness.
- 3Check wheel runout.Refer to S.D.S.
SFA575B - 4Check front suspension for looseness.
- 5Check steering linkage for looseness.
- 6Check that front shock absorbers work properly.
- 7Check vehicle posture (Unladen): "Unladen" — Fuel, radiator coolant and engine oil full. Spare tire, jack, hand tools and mats in designated positions.
Camber, Caster and Kingpin Inclination
- 1Caster and kingpin inclination are preset at factory and cannot be adjusted.
- 2Measure camber, caster and kingpin inclination of both right and left wheels with a suitable alignment gauge, and adjust in accordance with the following procedures.
