REAR DISC BRAKE (CL9H) — Caliper — Removal/Installation, Disassembly

Removal and Installation

Disconnect parking brake cable and brake hose, then remove caliper assembly.

Disassembly

Rear caliper disassembly (CL9H)

    Remove piston by turning it counterclockwise with suitable longnose pliers.
    Long-nose pliers turning the rear-caliper piston counter-clockwise to back it out of the cylinder body.

    Pry off ring A from piston with suitable pliers and remove adjusting nut.
    Pliers prying off ring A from the piston to expose the adjusting nut.

    Disassemble cylinder body. Pry off rings B and C with pliers, then remove spring cover, spring and seat.

    Remove piston seal.
    Be careful not to damage cylinder body.
    Plastic / non-metal pick removing the piston seal from inside the cylinder body without scoring the bore.
